End of the year message from our CEO 2021

Creating connections that matter in turbulent times

2021 has been another interesting, often challenging, year. In the real estate sector, as well as Covid lockdowns and closed international borders, agencies have been dealing with a sharp decrease in listings – down to 14-year lows.

These challenges have driven us all to find new ways of operating, and embrace the technologies that support that. Use of phrases like ‘unprecedented’, ‘pivot’ and ‘new normal’ have faded and been replaced with a growing level of comfort at operating in a much less certain environment.

Real estate agents now run virtual tours and online auctions, and have had to use digital tools to meet challenges in new ways. The ListingLogic platform is well placed to support the change occurring in the industry and in the coming 12 months we will look for more ways of delivering digital media tools that will continue to make a real estate agent’s job easier and more efficient.

We will continue to work closely with the real estate sector, so we’re not just simplifying the placing of ads, but the optimising of them, the paying for them, and improving the customer insights gained from them.

Growth amid the challenges

We are grateful and proud that, despite the challenging environment created by a shortage of listings and therefore fewer properties being marketed, at ListingLogic we worked hard to keep building on our previous success.

By the end of March 2021, ListingLogic had recorded 103% growth. This sales growth has continued through the calendar year, and we have seen a good increase in the number of agents using the platform across the 42 real estate companies we serve.

Our focus has been to continue developing products that support our clients. Crucially we have introduced new agent branding products that simplify the process of boosting an agent’s profile online in the local area in which they operate. It’s an important tool in building trust as well as awareness while listings are harder to find, so that when the market shifts an agent’s brand is front of mind for new vendors as well as potential buyers.

As we look ahead, we see these types of products becoming more and more important, as agents see they can always be “talking” to their community and potential clients where they spend time online.

To support that profile and trust-building, we have also introduced products that support the agency’s brand authority. These include always-on dynamic placement advertising (DPA) tools that leverage the agency’s website, and new always-on “sold” campaigns that are the digital equivalent of the ‘sold’ banner going onto street signage.

Working together

These simple, optimised placement of digital media allows us to build connections that really matter for real estate agents.

That phrase – “create connections that matter” – has become our core purpose. It speaks to so much of what everyone in our business works on every day: helping agents connect with buyers and sellers through simple, optimised placement of digital advertising media.

It provided a great talking point at the various conferences we were able to attend earlier in the year. The arrival of Delta slowed that down and meant that for a large chunk of this year, our whole team has been working from home, running all client communications and training over video calls.

Amongst the disruptions we have taken some big inroads in how we manage our own social media and marketing. Our focus in that space is to build awareness of the importance of having a strong digital marketing strategy for the real estate sector, and how we can help solve some important issues for our customers. We are proud of our efforts so far in this area and are delighted with the connections we’re creating with our regular followers and readers.

Looking ahead

2022 is shaping to be another exciting year for ListingLogic. In terms of our platform we are looking to introduce a new user experience built for mobile devices as well as new functionality that will build warmer leads to gain both sellers and buyers.

Look for changes to the dashboard tools that will become more tailored to the type of user; whether they are an agent, a business owner or an administrator, for example.

Most importantly look for more integrations with new digital media outlets as we add more to the platform.

We will continue to develop and share a high level of thought leadership around the importance of personal brands and creating superior digital media programs, as well as how to execute them simply and effectively.

Look for the start of some new community-building initiatives within our growing client base as we continue to support the real estate industry on its digital journey, and yes we might just see some new customers beyond Australian and New Zealand shores.

Ultimately with growth comes the ability to better serve our customers, and that is something the whole ListingLogic team is committed to doing in 2022 and beyond.

Thank you to our whole team for their efforts in a sometimes challenging 2021 environment. And, most importantly, a huge thank you to our clients for their loyalty and support. Let’s grow together in 2022.

Have a wonderful and safe festive season.
